Ode to Summer
Summer, Oh Summer
You bring joy and laughter to the kids
But when they start school
They say, “oh what a bummer!”
But thats far away
Summer has just begun
Lets see what happens
During Summer fun
Summer brings sun
Hot days, Warm nights
Swimming in the pools
Or Flying kites
Families travel
To far off lands
By car or by plane
Or even by boat
To have adventures
And memories to last
But just by doing this
Summer time pasts
Fast, summer pasts
And we come to the middle
Where stores start selling supplies
and days start passing by
Soon enough summer ends
The freedom is broken
Back to school
Where the teachers have spoken
And that is summer
But thats what it is to me
